About us

We’re building a research-based wellbeing app for busy lives. The kind where plans change, energy dips, and you don’t have time to read 40 studies before deciding what to try.

Our job is to do that work, translate it clearly, then keep improving the system as evidence and real-world learning evolves.

What makes us special

Bearmore brings three essentials together:

Research: What the evidence suggests
Application: How to apply it in real life
Tech: The system that makes it usable

We built Bearmore because we were tired of:

Health trackers without usable guidance
Books and podcasts without tools to implement
Wellness apps without clear grounding in evidence

43
Evidence-backed activities
419
Quality studies assessed
878+
Free, interactive activity guides

Research-based, claims-disciplined, and easy to audit.

Wellbeing research is mixed. Some areas are well-studied, others are still emerging, and effects vary between people. So we treat evidence with care: we qualify what we say, we stay clear about limits, and we don’t dress uncertainty up as certainty.
Built on careful selection (not trend-chasing)

We start with credible sources and established frameworks, then prioritise research that’s methodologically strong and relevant to real-world behaviour.

Clear confidence signals, plain language

We separate what the evidence suggests from what we’ve chosen as a product decision. When the evidence is strong we’ll say so; when it’s patchy, we’ll say that too.

Giving back through citizen science

We don’t just read research, we test and share what we’re learning in the wild. Next, we’re expanding this open learning loop into more reports and collaboration-friendly datasets.

Application is what makes what the research says doable on a Wednesday.

Even great recommendations fall over if the steps are vague, too ambitious, or hard to return to after a break. So we design for the reality of busy weeks: small wins, repeated, and a plan you can adjust when life changes.
Built around context

We begin with the change someone actually wants — then help them turn it into a realistic approach for their life.

Designed for real life

We assume interruptions will happen. The product should make “back on track” straightforward, not dramatic — because momentum is built through consistency, not perfect streaks.

More tailored over time

Over time, Bearmore will increasingly adapt guidance and insights based on what someone chooses, completes, and reflects on.

Tech puts the power of research and application in people’s hands.

Tech is how we lower friction for real people and keep our standards intact as we grow. We build with modern tools, but we don’t outsource judgement to them.
Built for security & scale

We’ve focused on secure, scalable foundations that let Bearmore iterate quickly. Systems that can be updated and improved while keeping the experience stable and clear.

R&D that shows up in the interface

The hard part is turning messy, multi-variable wellbeing realities into visuals that feel obvious in seconds. This way users can understand what’s happening without needing a research degree.

Using AI to push what's possible

We use AI to speed up analysis, content production, and iteration The goal isn’t speed for its own sake; it’s building faster without lowering standards. Everything we put into the world has had human quality control.

The team

Bearmore is built by a cross-functional team across research, product, engineering and content. These disciplines are supported by an ongoing group of specialists who contribute on full and part-time basis.

The work isn’t siloed: research shapes what we include, application shapes how it lands in real life, and tech shapes how it scales without losing clarity.

Aulay Macaulay
(Product & technology)
Leads how Bearmore works in practice. How guidance is expressed, how plans fit real weeks, and how we design for follow-through and restarts without judgement.
Michele Troughear
(Application & ethics)
Leads the evidence process. What makes the cut, how confidence is communicated, and how we keep claims responsible and up to date.

Specialists across design, engineering, marketing and guide production. Some are contractors, some are full-time members of the team. The common thread is craft and shared standards.
The wider team

Collaborate with us

Right now, our biggest focus is distribution through content collaborations. Partners who help get clear, responsible wellbeing guidance in front of more people.

What we’re keen to explore
-
Co-authored articles, newsletter series, podcast segments, and creator partnerships
- Data-led stories with clear limits and no hype
- Practical explainers that help people act, not just consume
- Distribution partnerships with platforms and communities that already have trust

What we won’t do
-
Supplement partnerships
- “Proprietary” activities dressed up as secret sauce
- Anything that needs us to overclaim, blur evidence, or imply we replace proper medical care

If you reach busy adults and care about clarity over hype, we’ll probably get along!
